Threading Trends in 2014 |
Falli Shah • Owner • Seventh Wonder Day Spa |
Sunday November 9: 9:00am – 10:00am |
Threading is an ancient art that removes hair, primarily from the eyebrows, without the use of wax. Hot wax can burn and irritate sensitive skin particularly in the eye area, and people using certain medications cannot have wax applied to the skin. Threading is a wonderful alternative. It does not irritate the skin and is done with more precision and control than other methods of hair removal. In addition, it does not pull on the skin as waxing does, which after prolonged use will cause the skin to sag above the eyes. |

How Medical Spas Can Benefit the Most When Employing Estheticians |
Douglas Preston • President • Preston Esthetics and Consulting |
Sunday November 9: 10:00am – 11:15am |
Many medical spas began with or have added estheticians to their staff often with disappointing results. Weak client attraction or retention, poor product sales, high turnover, and less-than-expected patient referrals can make for uncomfortable and expensive conditions between physicians, nurses and an in-clinic esthetics professional. But, there are quick and easy fixes for this problem when you know what’s wrong and how to change it for everyone’s satisfaction. Thirty-three year esthetics and spa business mentor Douglas Preston will present on why many esthetician/physician professional relationships fail to work, plus offer strategies for building a profitable medical spa service program. Highlights include why estheticians often struggle in a medical spa environment, cross-professional communication techniques, creating achievable co-shared business goals, plans for integrating medical and esthetics services, and maximizing retail product sales performance. |
