Amy Dodds Named Editor in Chief of American Salon |
|
American Salon is proud to announce the appointment of Amy Dodds as editor in chief. Dodds joins American Salon at a critical juncture in the 140-year-old publication’s journey as it continues to successfully integrate content across its print, digital and social media platforms. In her role, Dodds will work alongside Gordon Miller, publisher and VP, Integrated Media, to oversee editorial content and related strategy. She replaces Marianne Dougherty, who has chosen to retire but who will continue to work on special projects. |
Miller says: “I’m beyond excited to partner with Amy in leading our overall content development and audience engagement efforts, as well as work together to support the efforts of our iconic publishing brand’s advertiser and audience relations. 2017 is going to be a great year!” |
Dodds added: "I'm thrilled to join the team at American Salon during such an exciting time. The salon industry is rapidly evolving and we're committed to empowering our audience through insightful, engaging and informative content. I look forward to working with the team to further grow our leading market position, create an inspired future and honor the magazine's 140-year history of supporting our advertiser partners." |
With more than a decade of professional beauty editorial experience, Dodds most recently served as the highly respected top editor of a leading beauty trade magazine (from 2010 to 2016). She has received two Western Publishing Association MAGGIE Awards and two APEX journalism awards. Her unique ability to document and share the stories that make the salon industry so special, as well as the relationships she has formed within the professional beauty community, make her an outstanding addition to American Salon's professional team of storytellers and artists. |
